We can take your raw fiber and turn it into roving, batts, yarn and finished products for your farm store. We specialize in felting, and also offer yarns, batts and roving for knitting, weaving, crochet, handspinning and felting.
CORE SPUN RUG YARN
TURN YOUR SECONDS AND THIRDS INTO A PROFITABLE PRODUCT

We will take your lower quality fiber and turn it into beautiful cotton core rug yarn, using the natural colors of alpaca and enhancing it with subtle or bright colors of dyed alpaca, merino and bamboo fiber. This yarn can be woven or felted into beautiful rugs and household items.

FELTED RUGS
FELTED RUGS FROM YOUR RUG YARN

We can take either the rug yarn we produce for you, or rug yarn from another mill and create beautiful one-of-a-kind felted rugs and household items, such as chair pads, trivets and coasters.

YARN
CUSTOM SPUN YARNS
We will make unique artisan yarns from your alpacas, sheep or other natural fibers. We offer blending services and fingering weight to super bulky and single ply Lopi style yarns from longer staple fibers.
FELTÂ SHEETS
SPARK YOUR CREATIVITY WITH FELTÂ SHEETS
We can make your fiber into felt sheets. They can be plain or as wild as your imagination. The sky is the limit. We can also give you ideas on using your felt sheets to create unique items on your own. Sizes up to 36"x36".
ROVING
FOR HAND SPINNING OR FELTING
We will create roving from your fibers in either 100% alpaca or blended with merino or bamboo.
BATTING
FOR HAND SPINNING, FELTING OR FILLING
We will create batts for spinning, felting or filling with your choice of fiber.
HOUSEHOLD ITEMS
CHAIR PADS, TRIVETS AND COASTERS
Our whimsical chair pads, trivets and coasters are great ways to use odds and ends of cotton core yarn. We have found that they sell very well at your farm store or vendor booth.
RAW FIBER
SORTING, GRADING, CLASSING, CONSULTING
I will take your raw fiber and sort it by grade, length and color according to the standards set by SGC for efficient batch processing. We can also take the skirtings from your blanket fleeces and turn them into an additional revenue source for your ranch. We occasionally buy fiber at fair market value.
NEEDLE FELTING
INSOLES, RUGS AND MORE
We have a FeltCrafts Needle Felting Machine, and will produce insoles, quilt batting, felt sheets and other items with your fiber.
HAND BRAIDED RUGS
THICK, CUSHY RUGS WITH A FELTED BACKING.
We can take your rug yarn and make a luxurious hand crafted braided rug. These rugs are unique and prized by their owners. They are thick and soft on your feet.
DRYER BALLS
100% ALPACA DRYER BALLS MADE WITH YOUR FIBER OR OURS
We can use your fiber or ours to create large 100% alpaca dryer balls. These are great sellers in your farm store and use fiber that may not be suitable for other products.
WOOL PELLETS
WOOL PELLET SOIL AMENDMENT
All otherwise unprocessable fiber will be turned into wool pellets, a soil amendment for your houseplants or gardens. These are always available for wholesale.
Fiber Processing Services
POLICIES, PRICE LIST AND ORDER FORMS
We have a fiber processing queue. You are welcome to email to be added or check that you are on the queue, but we take customers in the order that you signed up. Be assured that we are actively processing fiber every day, and that we are going as fast as we can while still providing quality work. Sometimes there are delays caused by equipment problems, personnel issues, and farm emergencies. These are beyond our control.
We will notify you about two months out when we are ready to accept your fiber. Due to storage limitations and liability issues, we are not able to store your fiber for long periods. If you are coming from a long distance and want to drop your fiber off, we will work with you to make arrangements for that. However, please understand that just because we have your fiber, doesn’t mean we’re actively processing it. There are clients ahead of you in the queue, and they have also been waiting for their turn. Please do not send us fiber without our prior authorization.
Once you have been notified that we’re ready to take your fiber, please allow 3-12 months for us to finish processing it. If we contact you about your fiber and don’t hear back, we will move on to the next person in the queue. If you missed your turn and would like to be added back into the queue, we will work with you on placement.
We really appreciate properly prepared fleeces, as this speeds up our processing tremendously. We provide skirting services, and I also teach a class in preparing your fleece for processing. We reserve the right to refuse to process fiber for any reason, including, but not limited to, moth or bug infestation, mouse infestation, lice nits, skin flakes, too short or long, gravel, vegetable matter, tenderness or excessive dirt. We will turn fleece that has no commercial value into wool pellets, which will be available for purchase by you at wholesale rates. We will ask you if you want fleece returned to you that may be suitable for hand processing.
We process our yarns by color. As we complete each color from your order, we will invoice you and ship that portion of your order upon receipt of payment.
We require a $10/pound (incoming weight) deposit before we start processing your fiber. We will invoice you and ship products in batches as they are completed and the interim invoice is paid. We will apply your deposit to the final shipment. Failure to pay within 90 days from invoice will result in your order being considered abandoned. We will sell it to recoup our processing charges, as our employees don’t work for free.
We all love the convenience of paying online by card, but due to the significant loss of revenue from those fees, we will automatically add a 2.9% surcharge to your invoice. However, if you pay by check or ACH, we will edit your invoice to reflect that. Thank you for your understanding.
